Shleep is a tool that focuses on one specific aspect of the mental wellness aspect, namely sleep. According to Shleep, more attention must be paid to sleep among employees, as we already do with athletes, for example. With this, Companies can prevent and remedy stress complaints and create better-performing employees that will greatly benefit the company.

I joined Shleep as a product designer and had the chance to update UI components for products and brands, expanding on this to consider and create a stronger link between design solutions and business objectives, helping them to build design systems. During this process, I work closely with researchers, developers and project managers to build out the experience, consistently communicating to form a consensus between usability objectives and technical constraints.

Due to NDA restrictions, I cannot disclose all details about my project.

Goal
Challenge

My goal is to improve the overall usability and visual design of the Shleep mobile app with an updated version.

Build a Digital Application to help employees thought behavioral change to sleep and perform better, knowing that most of them are really busy.

What I created

Sign-up/in Screen
The new registration screen creates a personal experience for these users and informs them of the product content and builds a brand connection.
Personal data input
The new onboarding set up users' personal plans and courses by asking them questions.
2. Relax screen
Updated images + Categories

I have created new illustrations for each audio, based on the category and duration. Also,Audio classification is more subtle, rather than just three categories. I have designed a red line to express the selected state.

3. Home Screen with new function
The to-do list tips provide users with very professional and personalised advice every morning.
4. Weekly report

Brainstormed the possible UX for the new feature

To explore new search way, we used the Crazy 8 method of brainstorming and then discussed these ideas together. We then voted on which ideas we thought would be best suited to the problem for further development.

Design system

I was involved in setting up a new design system. I improved on the original design system in order to maintain a consistent style. In addition, I created the system with accessibility in mind, ensuring that each component achieved a minimum color contrast of 4:1. To make the application more user-friendly, I also designed a series of dynamic graphics for feedback and encouragement.

Reflection

The current Shleep application has so many different features that it was a challenge to prioritize which pages to redesign the UI for. To help evaluate the success of the design, I invited target audiences to test the effectiveness and feasibility of the new UI. While the comments were positive, I was still encouraged to further improve the design.

I find it so important to have a proven visual system that will help me ensure that my design choices are ingrained in the overall system and increase the productivity of my team. I collaborate with other designers and engineers to verify that my solution fits into the existing system while being easily scalable.
